To describe the synopsis of Archie-ology in detail would give away some of the show's humor, but the basic plot is--
    Prof. Archibald Peart and his assistant Clifford have been hired by Xena Stuhr to lead an expedition into a pyramid in Egypt, where Xena's husband had been doing research before being mysteriously killed. What she knows that they don't is that a curse has been placed on the pyramid by its resident mummy. The first three attempts to enter the mummy's tomb will be met by a violent death for all involved, and thereafter, the curse will be lifted and anyone can enter unharmed and claim the many treasures and artifacts within. Xena knows that her husband's attempt was the second, and she is planning for Archie's group to be the third, allowing her to follow thereafter and claim the treasure for herself.
    During the expedition, Archie and Clifford encounter various obstacles, including a wealthy Texan named J.B., who seems to have some business interest in the pyramid himself, and Xena's boyfriend Ralph, who belongs to a radical extremist group and wants a particular item from the tomb that he believes will grant him and his organization unlimited destructive powers.
